Cindra Kamphoff

Cindra is an Assistant Professor
at Minnesota State
University, Mankato in the Department of Human
Performance. She is the coordinator of the Psychological Aspects of Sport
graduate program and teaches both sport psychology and sport sociology classes
within the department.
Cindra
received her Ph.D. from the University
of North Carolina at Greensboro. She received the Sport &
Exercise Psychology Dissertation Award through NASPE (The National Association
for Sport and Physical Education) for her research examining the trend of women
leaving the coaching profession. Her research has continued within this area.
Cindra has provided performance
enhancement services to several individuals and teams. She has presented at
several international conferences including the Association for Applied Sport
Psychology, the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport and the
American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. Her work
is published in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology as well as several
other academic journals.
Cindra completed her bachelor’s
degree at the University
of Northern Iowa, where
she competed on the track and cross country teams. Last year she ran the Boston
Marathon.
